Spiced Rice


  • 1 cup Village Harvest Basmati Rice or Village Harvest Jasmine Rice
  • 1 1/2 cup apple juice or sparkling apple cider
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of saffron (optional)
  • Salt to taste


Prepare Village Harvest rice according to the package directions. For the liquid, use apple juice or apple cider and water.
Before putting the lid on the pan, add nutmeg and cinnamon. If desired, add saffron to give the dish a lovely fall color.
Turn off heat and let sit for five – ten minutes. Fluff with fork.
