Freekeh is densely nutritious, with high protein content and three times the fiber of brown rice. The inherent nutty flavor and chewy texture of freekeh make it the perfect grain for hearty salads, pilafs, or soups.
- Combine 1 cup of Village Harvest Freekeh with 2 ½ cups water in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until all water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.
To prepare in a rice cooker, use same water to grain ratio.
